Y’all… I accidentally went fabric shopping again. But can you blame me? Luckily, I know you love a fabric haul!
Over the weekend I found myself in Seguin, Texas for a 5K (as one does), and post-run I wandered into what I thoughtwas a little quilting shop. Instead, I discovered an absolute gem: Artable Curiosities — a creative reuse space filled with donated art and craft supplies, AND everything is pay-what-you-will. Cue instant obsession.
Highlights from my fabric haul:
Naturally, I made a beeline for the fabric section and walked away with three delicious secondhand scores:
🌸 1. Whimsical Wax Print
Bright pinks, a linen-like hand, and all the bold vibes of a classic wax print. I’m dreaming up some statement pants or a punchy skirt. Not quite enough yardage? Might need a round two…
🎨 2. Painterly Cotton Lawn (probably?)
This one is light, floaty, and covered in hand-painted-style florals in my go-to palette of reds and blues. A generous three yards gives me plenty to play with. Possibly a breezy summer dress in the making.
💃 3. Dreamy Nicole Miller Silk
Yes, you read that right. I scored a Nicole Miller for Joann Fabrics silk — three yards of soft, drapey goodness with a Van Gogh water lily vibe. She’s already whispering flowy dancing dress into my ear.
Why I Love Creative Reuse Shops
Fabric from creative reuse centers like Artable Curiosities and Austin Creative Reuse isn’t just budget-friendly — it’s inspiring, sustainable, and totally one-of-a-kind. There’s nothing like the thrill of the hunt, or the satisfaction of giving beautiful materials a second life.

These kinds of finds are a reminder that you don’t always need a plan. Sometimes the fabric tells you what it wants to be.
