Y’all … it’s FINALLY HERE! I have been SEW antsy to reveal this to you but I of course had to wait till REVEAL WEEKEND for the 2018 Restyling Exchange. Reveal Weekend is literally the best part of the exchange. We finally get to share & see what everyone has made for the exchange, plus hear everyones reactions to their newly Restyled garments.
Today I am so excited to share with you what Jackie restyled for me!
It’s BAAAACK!!!! Last year’s Restyling Exchange was such a great success – with over 40 participants from all over the world. How could we not bring it back this year?!
Our hopes for this year’s restyling exchange is to get even more participants, raise awareness for refashioning and being sustainable in our sewing practice, as well as add a few fun new elements to this years challenge.
How bad of a host am I to JUST NOW be posting the restyle I received for the Restyling Exchange 2017!? I have to admit it was a bit of poor planning on my part. I was out of town for the reveal weekend and once I missed the posting party I just let it all fall by the wayside. Never the less I am so excited to share this with you. Last week, my restyler Sophie shared her process for restyling this dress for me. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t already. Read on for my take of this fun refashioned vintage dress.
Guys I’m so excited to introduce the oh-so-talented Sophie Hines of Sophie Hines lingerie and the ever so popular Euler Bralette Pattern (I’m seriously dying to make one of those). She was my restyler for the Restyling Exchange 2017 and today she is going to take you behind the scenes and share her prices for restyling my beautiful vintage dress. Next week I will be sharing my take on receiving this lovely dress (and mostly just sharing pictures of me happily dancing around in it). I was going do do a combo post but Sophie’s was so well written and it would have been CRAZY long so lets hear from Sophie first. Keep reading for all the goodness!
I am extra excited to share this project with you because THIS is my completed garment for the 2017 Restyling Exchange!!! Which means that this is actually not a project for me, its for my Restyle-ee Allie from IndieSew. She should have received it by now but I haven’t heard from her (probably just keeping it quiet till the reveal this weekend).. but I REALLY hope she loves it because I feel like I have all the heart eyes for this top and it was hard for me to give it back to her! Keep reading for the full evolution story and lots of pictures without my face in them.
Y’all! I am so stinkin’ excited to finally be posting about this project! It’s the first annual RESTYLING EXCHANGE!! (insert fanfare + confetti). Pilar and I have been working on this for a month or so now and the anticipation has been building and the time is finally here to share it with you lovely folks. As you all know I am a huge fan of refashioning, and I also love all the fun instagram parties & hashtag prompts that show up throughout the year.. so I’m super pumped to be starting up this new instagram swap with the lovely Pilar Bear.
