It’s FINALLY happened! I know I’ve been quiet on the blog for a while… and this is why! The Chelsea Party Dress is the last of my original patterns to be up dated in the new size range and she is READY yall!

I have to admit I started my pattern business very naively. I thought that starting with a size range of 0-20 was “good enough for now” and I’d figure out the rest eventually. If I could go back and do it all over again I’d make myself hunker down and sort out the more inclusive sizing from the get-go because going back and re-grading patterns that have already been released is NOT fun y’all!

It’s crazy to me that I ever thought size 20 being the top of my range was an acceptable way to run a pattern business. I want to apologize to anyone who felt excluded or unseen by my original size range. Additionally, I want to address the fact that the new size range STILL does not accommodate all bodies. I do feel it is a step in the right direction, and I’m very proud of how far this little company has come. Also, I’m currently looking into new drafting software that makes the grading process a little more streamlined for possible future expansions.

A re-introduction to Chelsea

The Chelsea Party Dress is an empire waist, gathered + flared dress with a plunging neckline and open back. This pattern offers 2 views. View A is a shorter, flirty above-the-knee length. View B adds a panel for a beautiful, dramatic maxi length. This pattern prefers lighter weight fabrics with good drape., but more structured fabrics could work great for the bodice pieces!

Chelsea is available in a B cup for sizes 0-20, and a D cup for sizes 16-32 (note the overlap!) As usual, Amy Nicole Patterns are drafted for petites (a height of 5’4″ and under), so taller sewists will want to add length.
