Born and raised in Texas, I graduated from the University of Houston with a BA in theatre. My experience working in the costume shop inspired a love for fashion and clothing construction. With a new dream in mind, I packed up and moved to New York City. There I attended the Fashion Institute of Technology where I further developed my design skills and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design. During my time at FIT and in the year after I gained valuable experience in the field working with several independent designers including WHIT, Daniel Vosovic, and Victor De Souza. I was able to broaden my knowledge of the industry and witness first hand the ins-and-outs of running a business in fashion.
After gaining experience working with designers, I became a tailors assistant at the Chasing Tailor studio in Williamsburg. This experience strengthened my knowledge of clothing fit and construction, in addition to honing my sewing skills with both vintage and ready to wear garments. I also spent time as a patternmakers apprentice, working to develop my skills in drafting womenswear patterns at Quick Turn Clothing in Manhattan’s garment district.
In the past year I have returned to my roots in central Texas where I do tailoring and alterations from my home studio. I can be contracted on a freelance basis for various sewing services, including custom work for interiors, costume construction, on-set tailoring, and pattern making.
