Not sure if I mentioned it on the last “Lady M Wears” but one of the designers I’ve recently interned for has encouraged me to pick a theme for every outfit. Not only does it make getting ready more fun, but having a “name” for my outfit makes me feel a little more confident oddly enough. So, here it goes:
I think these overalls may be one of my best vintage finds ever… and I wasn’t really even looking to shop when I found them. Isn’t that how it always happens? I got these beauties in Red Hook on a fun outing with the Gentleman, we decided to pop into this tiny little vintage shop and they were hanging on the wall screaming my name. They needed some alteration, so I tapered the legs and took up the length. My plan was for them to be cropped and cuffed at the ankle but I got a little over-zealous with my scissors and chopped ’em off a little more than I anticipated. I still love the look, and every day I wear them I think I just can’t wait to live in the country!
I find it especially fun to pair quirky pieces like this with a little contrast – the leopard kitten heels not only enhance the fun but also urban-ize the look.

Okay, okay, so it’s not exactly a PIE MONTH post, but I don’t these overalls make you want to get out and do some berry picking?
This is so cute! I never would have thought to layer a pussy bow blouse under overalls, but it looks great!

http://fieryfinish.blogspot.com
Thanks so much! I'm OBSESSED with bow blouses!

p.s. love your shop & blog! – following you π
I don't know that I could pull off pink overalls but you look super cute in them!
Awww thanks! Its hard to tell from the pictures, but they are actually a thin red & white stripe … almost like "engineer overalls" – I'll admit, I do have to be wearing them on a day when I'm feeling particularly bold π
