Welcome to Part 2 of my Chi town Chino party. If you missed part 1, you can visit last weeks here. This week’s version is another longer pair in linen. Only this time we are going a bit darker. These shorts are so light and comfy – perfect for this super hot weather we’ve been having. Keep reading for more details!
As you know the pattern is the Chi Town Chinos by Alina Design Co. For this version I did another longer inseam with a cuffed hem. I skipped the welt pockets to go for a more casual look and chose the patch pockets without the flap. Front fly has a button, and instead of doing the folded belt loops I stitched right sides together then turned them out. I like the skinnier belt loop for this style.
This navy linen fabric is more from the internship stash. It is super light and soft, perfect for a summer short. You can also see it in action here in overalls form! Since this fabric is rather light I chose to interface my waistband facings for extra sturdiness. I also made sure not to skip the bar tacks at the pocket and fly stress points.
I am also excited to announce in this post that the Amy Nicole Studio you tube channel is up and running! I will be making video re-caps of each make (this one is the first!) along with some fun tutorials and possibly my future sew-alongs. If you prefer your content in video form, be sure to subscribe to my channel to follow along there.
