Today in the Nita Trouser sewalong is all about inspiration! And the number one place to get inspiration is a round up from my lovely pattern testers!
Tester roundup
I am always infinitely grateful and impressed by the work that my testers do. I’m so pleased to be able to take some time to share their work with you. I think their Nita makes are a great source of inspiration! We’ve got a great mix of prints & solids, casual & fancy trousers.
Cass made a beautiful dark teal version and I love how she’s styled it here with both a light sage top and a bright pop of gold.
I love this right red pair that Dana made. Dana is one of my tall sewing ladies who added length to her trousers for the perfect fit!
Erin made beautiful navy tencel version and even drafted sewed a matching self tie belt that I just LOVE.
I love the grey linen Faith chose for a casual vibe with her Nita Trousers.
I love how Genya‘s Nitas look work-ready and office friendly!
Another work-appropriate pair of Nitas! Isa‘s pair is neutral with a subtle plaid print in a suiting fabric. She also left the cuffs off for more of a classic trouser look. You can read her blog post and full review here.
Another beautiful red pair of Nita’s from Jennifer. I especially love how perfectly these pair with her Krissa Crop!
Another adorable and sleek neutral grey pair of Nita Trousers by Julia. How great is this photoshoot with her beautiful paintings!
Another Julia, another gorgeous rust pair of Nitas! I love how Julia used a contrast fabric for her welt pocket.
Kirsten looks great in a classic black Nita Trouser. I love all the ways she styled it here!
Kten looks amazing in this white cotton pair of Nita’s! I love how she adapted them to be beach pants when she realized the fabric was a little more opaque than desirable. They look so cute over a swimsuit!
Laura is just adorable in a burgandy Nita’s I love her fun styling with sneakers and a tee!
Lynette knocked it out of the park with this color blocked pair! I just love the gingham with the pops of red!
Another classy black pair from Madeline. I’m thinking I might need to make myself a black pair of Nita’s now!
Pamela looks so cute in these minty green Nita Trousers. And how fun are those shoes!?
Tawanna used ankara wax print for her Nita trousers and they are just so fun! This was her first time with a zip fly and welt pocket and she did a great job!!
Floral Nita Trousers!! How amazing!? Stephanie’s pair is just so much fun and it shows in her smile how much she loves them! Stephanie also wrote a full review for her blog which you can read here.
In addition to the ladies above, I also want to give a shout-out to: Emily, Abigail, and Suzanne who completed the test as well and provided great feedback. For various reasons, their photos are not included here.
Inspiration
As I’m drafting a pattern and working through the beginning stages, I like to keep a pinterest board of inspiration images from ready to wear so I can keep an eye on the style I’m aiming for. This board could be a great resource for inspiration when deciding what fabric to use on your Nita Trousers. As I post to instagram, actual Nita’s will be added to this board as well!
And be sure to follow #nitatrousers on instagram to catch all the latest Nita Trouser makes as they get posted!
Join me tomorrow when we will talk fabric & supplies for sewing the Nita Trousers!
