This is my third (and brightest!) pair of Chi Town Chinos pants. To say I love this pattern by Alina Design Co would be an understatement! It’s my go-to for a perfect lower waist trouser style pant.
These I decide to make when a RTW pair in a similar color I had got really worn out. I was sad to see them go, so I had to make a replacement.
I got this yellow canvas like cotton fabric from Well Fibre on Instagram. It was actually a table cloth! It’s a little more yellow and less mustard than my other pants were but I don’t mind. The fabric is nice and sturdy but still breathable. The tablecloth had a really cool border detail that I wanted to incorporate into the hem, but I wasn’t sure about where I’d want the length so I had to skip it.
I’ve already made all the necessary adjustments I needed to this pattern so it was really quick to just cut and sew it up without worrying about fit. I love that about the tried and true patterns. If you are interested in fit adjustments I’ve made to this pattern check out this post.
I did my usual permenant cuffed hem, which you can see a tutorial for here. I also chose the welt pockets instead of the patch option on this pair. On the inside I of course had to have some fun pocket lining. Over all I’m quite happy with how they turned out.
See them in motion along with a closer peek at the inside details here:
Just a short and sweet one today since I’ve made this pattern before.
Happy Sewing!
