Current Size Range:
Labeling this the “current” size range was very intentional on my part. My business is ever changing & evolving, just like I am as a pattern maker. This is the range I currently use for all of my patterns, though I do not consider it a stopping point by any means.
Drafted for Petites
All Amy Nicole Patterns are drafted for sewists at a height of 5’4″ and under. Taller sewists will want to add length at the provided lengthen lines. Finished length measurements are provided for each pattern to make determining if length needs to be added or removed a bit easier.
When I was launching my pattern line, I was trying to think about what was going to make my pattern offerings different. Aside from my playful design aesthetic, I wanted my offerings to be unique in some way. I thought about my own biggest struggles when using sewing patterns and the answer seemed so obvious. I’m a shorty! That means, not only am I usually chopping at least 4″ off any hem, straps are often falling off my shoulders and waistlines sometimes sit in the wrong place. I decided to draft my patterns to accommodate a petite frame and eliminate some of those pesky & insistent height adjustments so many of us face.
In patterns that include a bodice: sizes 0-14 are drafted for a B cup, and sizes 16-32 are drafted for a D cup. In some cases with the older patterns there is some B cup and D cup overlap with sizing. Check each individual pattern listing’s sizing tab for details.
