Hey all! I am so happy to be sharing with you the finished product photos of the HAT DRESS which I shared with you when it was just a work in progress. After all the blood, sweat, and tears (literally) I am quite pleased with the final outcome. I even got accepted to show in the graduating students exhibition at FIT, which I was completely surprised about! I tried it on for mom & dad when they came to visit.. what a hoot! (excuse my unkempt hair in that pic – it was humid) Having never made anything like this before, there are probably 101 things I would do differently with the construction, it was definitely a learn-as-you-go process. Now I know for next time I make a dress shaped like a hat (ehem.. never).
Enjoy the pics, and let me know what you think in the comments!
Now I just have to figure out what to do with the thing.. it takes up like 1/4th of my already minuscule floor space in my apartment (not exactly hangable).. anyone in New York in need of a hat dress?? Halloween perhaps?
Hats Off! (hee-hee .. never gets old)
~Lady M.

It's really cute! I don't think I could wear it but it's definitely a conversation piece AND quite an accomplishment, too!!! Very well done. Linda

Thanks so much.. I probably wont be wearing it either, but I'm proud of myself for trying something different 🙂
