My most recent Patti Pocket Skirt is a little dressier than my previous ones. I love having one for every occasion!
I got this fabric from a dear client who gave me a substantial amount of it. It had been purchased to make a set of bridesmaids dresses and was leftover. I just love the shimmery sage green color and the body of this fabric is perfect for a Patti Pocket Skirt. The pleats give it the perfect bell shape and it has a lovely swish as I walk. You guys know how much it means to me to acquire fabric second hand. So not only was it awesome that it was free, but eco-conscious too?? Yes please!
I wear a size 4 Patti Pocket Skirt and made no fit adjustments or changes. My favorite way to style this one is with my Everlane rib knit crop (pictured here). It is also super cute dressed down with a graphic tee (y’all know thats my fave combo), or paired with a cropped sweater in cooler months. I think a Patti Pocket like this is great for cocktail parties, weddings, and date nights.
If you want to make a look like this for yourself, you can just search “dupioni silk” or “shantung silk” in any online or local fabric shop. I’ve found a few for you here:
Mood Fabrics has a great supply of Dupioni. My favorites are this dusted garnet and this plateau gold.
If you want the look without the price tag, Fabrics.com has a great supply of not only silk dupioni but several affordable faux silks for a more wallet friendly price. I love this beige color but for a brighter pop of color I love the rich jewel tones of the wine and emerald too.
