Marco Dio is destined to be a hard-core kid (hello – just look at the name), so his booties were black with red laces and I embroidered his initials on one foot, and the logo of the BBQ restaurant his mom and I worked at together on the other foot (its a pig with lightning bolts).
I pretty much followed the instructions on the website except that I put cotton fusible on the inside of the shoes. Partly for comfort (the recycled felt I was using was not so soft), partly for stability, and partly to have something to trace my embroidery design onto. You’ll see I added stitches on my sewing machine to the inside/top edge of the bootie to keep the fusible secure through wear, I also think it adds some nice detail.
I highly recommend trying these for all your baby gifting needs. So fun, easy, and adorable!
