I’m super pumped to debut my final Chi Town Chino Expansion Pack trousers. These pants are so dreamy and I’ve already won them multiple times since sewing them up. They fit all my requirements for a simple, tailored, easy to wear trouser style pant. Just a heads up: I covered all the details on fit adjustments along with a full pattern review in my muslin post, so this one is going to be mostly pictures!
The pattern is of course the Alina Design Co Chi Town Chinos expansion pack. I already went on and on about how amazing this pattern is in my previous post about my muslin. So if you want to hear all the reasons why I think this is the perfect pattern for your first pair of pants you can see that post here. It’s also a great idea to visit that post if this is your first time making this pattern and you’d like to see how I made some basic fit adjustments based on the fit of my muslin before Sewing up this version in my nice linen fabric.
Speaking of fabric… Isn’t this fabric amazing!? Not only is it beautiful, but this is hand woven naturally dyed fabric that I got in Thailand on our honeymoon. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit the studio where it was made (Studio Naenna) and meet some of the people working there and take a little tour. I wanted to take one of their workshops but unfortunately for me (quite fortunate for my husband) they were not offering any at the time. Of course I had to buy something before I left. It was a major splurge but it was my honeymoon after all! You can see all about my visit there by clicking here.
I can already tell these are going to be my go-to pants for spring. They are so comfy and easy to pair with just about anything. Have you made the Chi Town Chinos yet?? What are you Waiting for?
P.S. These are pictured with my Grainline Studio Tiny Pocket Tank.
Happy Sewing!
Wow, I didn’t love that pattern until I saw it in your fabric!! Amazing!
Thanks so much Kaci!
Very cool pants! 🙂
