Nothing beats having a sewing bestie. Victoria Lucille Anne and I are always bouncing ideas off each other, talking about our next makes, and lamenting over constantly having more ideas than time for sewing. So when we both saw the Mesange top pattern by Delphine Morissette and instantly thought it needed to be a dress we decided to do a fun collaboration for our YouTube channels!
Check out our YouTube video below to hear us chat all about our struggles following this French pattern, the complications we had with our dress hacks, and what we would do differently next time. And be sure to subscribe to Victoria’s channel if you don’t already!
To do your own dress hack:
Check out Delphine Morissette’s instagram story highlights for a tutorial on how to properly hack the top into a dress! Victoria and I both added a separate gathered tier which is pretty easy to add once you determine how long you want your dress to be and how long you want the tier section. Just make the tier 1.5-2 times as wide as the bottom opening of the dress.
The beautiful photos:
I hope you loved this fun collaboration as much as Victoria and I did!
Happy Sewing!
